SKYJET VR - Flying experience
Skyjet VR is an immersive experience that makes you feel like you’re flying with a jetpack. With a VR headset and motion simulator, users fly over Spain’s most beautiful landscapes in real time.
MY ROLE:
(As Environment artist / Technical artist)
Optimizing terrain 3D tiles, generated from aerial LiDAR scans. Creating proper UVs and separating terrain areas based on their differents materials.
Baking new texture maps onto the optimized models to improve or reconstruct damaged parts of the photogrammetry, and organizing them into a Texture Atlas for better performance.
Developing a Terrain Master Material in Unreal Engine, built from multiple Material Functions, to control and blend the different surface types with Material Instance.
Procedurally generating trees in Blender using Geometry Nodes and creating a Depth Fade Shader in Unreal to optimize rendering and integration.
Modeling, UV mapping and designing materials for water surfaces. Optimized for VR.
Creating a customizable Skybox Material in Unreal Engine with adjustable parameters, designed to support scene optimization while maintaining artistic flexibility.
Showcase at FITUR
International Tourism Fair
Skyjet VR was officially showcased at FITUR (Madrid), the International Tourism Fair, where the National Center for Geographic Information (CNIG) presented the project at their stand. Visitors had the opportunity to experience the immersive VR flight.
Global Reach
This presentation allowed Skyjet VR to reach a wide international audience, highlighting its innovative use of VR technology for tourism and cultural promotion.
